A traditional function band learns a fixed repertoire of songs and performs them live. The guitarist plays guitar. The drummer plays drums. The singer sings. It is a great night out, but the setlist is limited to what the band has rehearsed, and the transitions between songs can sometimes feel clunky.
A DJ Live act works differently. The DJ has access to thousands of tracks and can switch genre, era and energy level instantly. The live musicians perform alongside whatever the DJ plays. A DJ on their own gives you flexibility and a huge repertoire, but lacks the visual spectacle and emotional impact of live performance.
